I'd bet on a sunny, exotic island... ;)

....with Blair & Bush as house guests!
....with Blair & Bush as house guests!
For free of course... ;)

Hopefully for something worthwhile-------like he's strangled the " boring priest".
I cann't stand 5 years of Prodi--------last night he had me asleep in 2 seconds flat !!!!!

Neil, from the look of it, you win the sweepstake...........Perma-grin looks likely to be in court in Nov, if BBC are to be believed.

......remind me, what was your prize?

(Seeing Berlu in court without his Presidential 'privileges?) :D

And will David Mills be joining him in the dock?

"Judge Paparella is still considering whether to charge Mr Berlusconi and Mr Mills in a related case. The former Italian prime minister is accused of paying Mr Mills $600,000 (£324,000) to give favourable evidence in two court cases. Both men deny the charges of bribery".

Well, it wouldn't be Italian to admit the charges would it? Don't you know the Italian national motto?

"Nego, nega, neghiamo!" :p :D :p

Hehehe, it hadn't clicked, but well spotted! Suspect that the trial may be as much a work of the imagination as the Messina Bridge, but we'll wait & see :o

If I 'win' this sweepstake, I promise that I'll take you all to Sunday lunch at my favourite restaurant :D

Bloomin' eck Tusk.. I'm going to hold you to that promise and sincerely hope you win!

Cant wait to see your face when you get the bill for Sunday lunch for 3,248 members. :D :D

No one honestly believes he will get full conviction and punishment do they? The system in Italy never lets the rich and powerful be punished. They need only say 'I am sorry' to have clean hands and go back to the villa!

Theres another Italian saying that comes to mind. 'If you are going to commit a crime, make sure its a murder'. It means that you never get full punishment for big deads but get the book thrown at you for doing something small.

I have this nagging feeling that 'the grinning one' will be back in the chair someday. Especially as I already see petitions being circulated by 'Perma-Tans' party stating that Prodi has added 67 new taxes so far.

I can't see him 'going down' so am happy to sub eveyone (who turns up that is ;)) to Sunday scram

From Times OnlineDecember 18, 2008

Prosecutors in Milan have demanded a prison term of four years and eight months for David Mills, the British lawyer and estranged husband of Tessa Jowell, the Olympics Minister, for allegedly accepting a bribe from Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, to give false or misleading evidence.

Mr Mills is accused of accepting $600,000 (£388,000) from Mr Berlusconi for testimony he gave in two trials in 1997 and 1998 in which Mr Berlusconi was charged with corruption. Fabio De Pasquale, the chief prosecutor, told the court that Mr Mills was "on the payroll" of the Berlusconi family holding company Fininvest as a tax lawyer and had developed a "professional and economic dependency" on it.

The final hearing at which....maybe....the sentence will be handed down is scheduled for January 2009!

.......so I expect new laws in early Jan to reduce the statue of limitations......I'll put a tenner on it :laughs:
