3490 Life enhanced by diligent esate agent

Lest everyone should get the impression that Italian estate agents are all out to get us, mine couldn't be more helpful.

I completed my purchase last July. After having helped me sign up for all the services etc, and getting quotes for building works, getting a friend of his to calculate my ICI, organising a plumber to ensure that the heating was working etc, he is now liasing with the builder to get the roof re-covered.

And I got an email yesterday to say that he had paid my electricity bill for me; I can pay him back when next in Italy.

All beyond the call of duty IMO.

Good post Tinks, I have asked before for more positive outcomes of agents, sorry I can't contribute, but lets hope others will tell their story too! :) Actually I can, our original agents were well....but Charles came to the rescue and has helped us all the way through and still does, also beyond the call of duty!

My estate agent was brilliant [and he spoke English]. He helped me open the bank account, translated [of sorts] any official documents, took me to get my Codice Fiscale, arranged for my mail to be held at the Post Office, sorted out the bankers drafts for the purchase, sorted out gas and electric standing orders, recommended a great geometra, sorts out my house insurance each year etc etc.

Apparently I'm not allowed to name his Company, but if you need an estate agent in the Lake Orta area - just PM me and I'll send his details to you.

Liked the title of your post very much WT!

Speaking just as 'me' here and not as a moderator, I think posts which don't name the agent, good or bad, carry more weight. Why? Because its not beyond the bounds of reason that a canny agent may initiate a thread which reads 'Does anybody know a good agent in (wherever)?' then get a pal to write a rave review naming their agency.

Don't want to undermine the kindness of those who genuinely want to dish out praise, where praise is due, but on posts where names aren't given, its easier to be sure that there is no ulterior motive.
