General chat about Italy

Am really glad to see they got off the ground. All power to them!

for once in my life i have nothing cynical to say... congratulations on something that italy mag should and surely is proud of ......

I have just read the article about The Simons and Respite Italia.
It reminded me of my reaction when I saw the film "La Vita è Bella".
Laughter and tears at the same time.
I hope the family have a wonderful holiday and that the little piglets are forced into doing a holiday scrapbook just to let them see who's Boss!!!!
I will now think more deeply when I see pink bikinis!!!
Anyway, what can we as regular Italy Mag Forum users do to help?
I haven't been using the forum all that long really, but from what I see, there are many of us who could in some small way help this good cause.
What do others think?
Any ideas?
A group effort to do something to help?
A voi?

Ronald, I have just posted under another thread about the same topic.
Please can you move it onto here for me.
Thanks a million.
I'm hopeless when it comes to " cutting and pasting":o and all of that stuff!!!

Ok, I nearly did that right...

Ronald HELP!!!!!

I am happy to see Respite Italia has moved forward and that Italy Mag has 'adopted' them. I often wondered what had happened since their first posting a little while ago.

Dreamy, there is a thread about offering accommodation to the charity if you were able to. That may be one way you may be able to help them., but your idea of a forum group effort would be a very nice gesture also.. :D

Respite Italia seems to have a lot of accommodation offers (although I am sure even more would be welcomed) but what they would really love now is an actual sponsor so if you know any organistaion willing to associate themselves with Respite Italia that would be great!

Glad to see Italy Mag linked up to such a deserving cause!! Good luck in your search for a sponsor... :)

Dream is right laughter and tears at the same time having read the story. There must be more, something us members can do to support Respite Italia.

So let's get our thinking caps on and come up with something!!!

MILLE GRAZIE!

The community spirit that is evident from these pages is quite wonderful.

Thank you everyone for your offers of holiday accommodation and your kind words of support, they all mean a great deal. Lots of the latest news about the project has just gone out in our newsletter, if anyone would like to receive it then please just register via www.respiteitalia.com.

Ancora - Mille grazie to Italy magazine for the support and our new partnership and to all the forum readers.

p.s. on the mantlepiece in the last appartment that I was staying in was a little card, it read "Do it big, or stay in bed" I hope we can do it BIG!
