According to her mother, Cassini was pointing out outfits she liked before she could walk, and she's been redesigning her store-bought dresses since she was five. At ten, she had her first trunk show, which sold out completely.
Her designs focus on brilliantly-colored, extravagantly-patterned fabrics, both synthetic and vintage, paired in contrast with knee-length girl's dresses. A large fabric rose is her signature flourish; she frequently wears one in her hair or on her dress at events. Dresses retail for $60-$150.
She told Women's Wear Daily, "I’m bringing a very modern, high-fashion look for kids from a kid’s eye. I know what girls my age want to wear.". But her creations aren't only for girls her age. Heidi Klum, Kelly Osbourne and Miley Cyrus have also been spotted in her dresses.
Cassini's rise to prominance, particularly on TV, can be attributed in part to her management. Her agent, Pilar DeMann, is also responsible for the Kardashians.
Though Cassini designs clothes because that is her passion, she aims to be an example for other girls her age to follow their dreams and take responsibility for their lives. She completes her homework during the day and spends her evenings sewing.
