David and Victoria Beckham bought the villa owned by the late Gianni Versace in Miami for $60 million, according to Spanish news agency Europa Press.
The 1930s villa, where the Italian designer was killed in 1997, is named Casa Casuarina and features sea views, a swimming pool, 10 bedrooms and a mega living room of 250 square meters.
Purchased by Versace in '92 for $10 million and renovated with another 33 million in 2000, it became the property of the American tycoon Peter Loftin, who attempted, unsuccessfully, to turn it into a luxury hotel.
In 2012, the house was put up for auction, to no avail. Now, it seems, Casa Causarina could have new owners.
Europa press says the news was confirmed by Gianni’s sister, Donatella Versace, who, incidentally, is a close friend of Victoria Beckham. However, some publications are reporting that the news is not true.
