“Paper Sunday” (Domenica di carta) will be celebrated throughout Italy this Sunday, October 5.
Forty-six public libraries and 135 state archives will be open for the public to discover both the historical palaces and buildings that house them and the paper treasures they guard: ancient manuscripts, rare documents, scrolls, books, newspapers, magazines, drawings, prints, photographs, maps, engravings and more.
A series of events, including guided tours, exhibitions, talks, screenings, musical and theatrical performances, have been organized at each location.
The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Culture. Find out what libraries and archives are taking part in this event here.
