Premier Silvio Berlusconi and opposition leader Walter Veltroni will meet after the confidence votes in parliament for the new government, the premier's office said on Monday.
Berlusconi's office added that the premier had phoned the former Rome mayor to arrange a meeting and that their meeting will be focused on finding common ground on reforms to be tackled in the new legislature.
The two leaders conferred before the election and agreed to meet again to exchange views on reforms.
Confidence votes in the House and Senate are expected on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
