A 13-year-old boy who spent too much time playing video games was rushed to hospital in a disoriented and confused state in the southern city of Lecce on Wednesday.
Doctors carried out a raft of emergency tests on the boy, who was also having difficulty communicating, but failed to find anything physically wrong with him.
After ruling out meningitis or any other infectious disease, they said it was possible that the boy's confused state had been caused by ''an abuse of electronic games''.
The boy returned to his normal self as doctors were carrying out the tests.
