Their presence did not go unnoticed. Especially because the two couples of Chinese newlyweds rolled up at Milan’s Piazza Duomo, chosen as the location of their wedding photos, on board a huge Hummer limousine – not such a common sight in Italian cities, and perhaps a little out of place in the Italian capital of fashion. Never mind, the newlyweds happily took their pictures under the surprised and amused glances of passers-by and tourists. Some, however, were not so amused and protested against the limousine obstructing part of the access to the piazza.
The community of Chinese people in Italy has grown rapidly in the past ten years, and Milan has the largest Chinese population in Italy.
