Italian Grandma Sends First Gift For Royal Baby
As the world awaits the birth of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s first child, it appears that the first present for the baby may have been sent by an Italian grandmother.
A report in online newspaper ‘TargatoCn.it’ says that a resident of Cuneo in Piedmont, northern Italy has sent the royal couple a handwritten notebook the ‘Quaderno di Nonna Ciccia No. 184’ (Nanny Ciccia’s Notebook No. 184) dedicated to them and their baby. The book contains 30 aphorisms, quotations and thoughts on expecting a baby, and the joy of having and rearing children.
The Duke and Duchess were quick to thank the sender for the carefully crafted gift. They sent a thank-you letter from St. James’s Palace dated 27 June 2013.
The newspaper praises the giver of the unique and exquisitely thoughtful gift. It reveals it knows the identity of the mystery donor but at present will not reveal who the grandmother is.
