The eight American guidos and guidettes have touched down on Italian soil. The cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore arrived in Florence on Friday to find a crowd of fans and paparazzi outside their luxury condo near the famous Duomo.
While a group of American fans excitedly cheered on the reality stars, the Italian press bemoaned their arrival. Headlines decried the group as “super buffoons” and worried about how their presence would affect Florence.
Matteo Renzi, mayor of Florence, also has his doubts that the Jersey Shore kids will be on their best behavior. He has prohibited the show from filming at famous landmarks such as the Uffizi Museum, and banned the cast from being videotaped drinking.
With all of the rules in place, the cast’s most pressing concern is actually carbs. Rumor has it that they will be working at the well-known O'Vesuvio pizerria but the American reality stars are committed to a routine of GTL: Gym, Tanning and Laundry. Less interested in art and culture, the TV personalities are worried about Italian food and expressed concern putting on weight during their month in Italy.
