The wildly popular American MTV show Jersey Shore is leaving behind the beaches of the United States for a European experience. Network officials have confirmed that the fourth season of the reality TV show will be filmed in Italy.
The Italian-American cast, who refer to themselves as “guidos” and “guidettes,” are best known for their dedication to GTL: Gym, Tanning, and Laundry.
Stateside, the show has drawn controversy over its unflattering portrayal of Italian-American culture, but the cast members are always adamant about their claims on Italian heritage.
Season 4 is expected to begin filming in Italy this spring. The cast will visit extended family and experience life in Italian society.
“The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by,” said a MTV executive. “We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result.”
