Rome Film Festival Rents Out Red Carpet For Wedding Photos
Couples may be able to have their wedding photos taken on the red carpet of next Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma (Rome Film Festival).
The idea has been proposed by the president of the festival Paolo Ferrari and its director Marco Muller. It is part of a series of initiatives to raise funds at a time when sponsors have reduced their donations.
The red carpet normally used exclusively by stars and VIPs would be rented out to couples for their wedding photos. There’s plenty of room for everyone: measuring 14,000 square feet), the festival’s red carpet is reported to be the largest film-festival red carpet in the world.
The eighth edition of the festival takes place from 8 to 17 November 2013. However, any money garnered from the rental is likely to be a drop in the ocean. The festival takes place during the month with the least weddings in the city, just 3% of the annual total.
As in past years, the heart of the event will be the Auditorium Parco della Musica designed by Renzo Piano. For ten days, the auditorium will be the place to be for film fans with film screenings, exhibitions, events, conferences, debates and the Cinema Village.
