The museum with the largest collection of Apple memorabilia pieces is, oddly enough, in Savona, in the northern region of Liguria.
The All About Apple Museum 3.0, located in Piazza De Andrè, in the heart of the modern port of Savona, is so unique that even Apple execs noticed it and sent a letter directly from Cupertino to the organizers to praise them, saying it is the best museum of its kind in the world.
Personal computers, peripherals, accessories, Apple prototypes from the beginnings to the present day - for a total of 9000 pieces - include the legendary Lisa, designed in the early ‘80s, the Macintosh 128K, the PowerBook Duo, the 20th-anniversary Macintosh, the Newton and the first mouse.
The new location of the museum, which moved from an old location because it needed a larger space, was inaugurated in January. The museum is the result of the passion of a few collectors who got together to put on display historic Apple pieces.
“Through an interactive journey, the machines on display, all turned on and functioning properly, tell of the birth and evolution of Apple computers, and of the transformation of personal computing carried out by the two Steves, Wozniak and Jobs," the museum’s president Alessio Ferraro said.
An interesting option as a place to visit for the many tourists disembarking from the cruise ships arriving in the port of Savona.
