In this 1965 weepie, based on a novel by Rumer Godden, Maureen O’Hara is Moira, a British woman who leaves her kind, decent husband for Lorenzo [Rossano Brazzi] an Italian pianist.
Lorenzo takes Moira to his beautiful Villa Fiorita, which overlooks an Italian lake and the two have a romantic idyll. But Moira has reckoned without the determination of her two young children, who travel to Italy to bring her back. There, they team up with Lorenzo’s daughter and a psychological battle begins…..
