Is Tiramisù From Treviso? The Answer Has Several Layers.

It’s Italy’s most famous dessert besides gelato, but there’s no real consensus on where it comes from. We’re talking about tiramisù, and Friulians, Piedmontese, Lombardians and even Tuscans all have skin in the game. 

Venetians, however, and specifically those from Treviso, have long taken for granted that the layered, cocoa-dusted delight is theirs — and seem to expect others to do the same. After all, for the last six years they’ve been the hosts of the Tiramisù World C
