there is a factory/warehouse in Ceperana by Santo Stefano, i have never been but apparantly it's very reasonable. We like a little shop in Villafranca called La matonella, reasonable too.

Have you moved to Varano permanently or is this a holiday home? I ask because we're in the small borgo around the moutain from you and there's a very pleasant walk from Salano to Varano. If you're there next time we go out we might arrange to walk over and say hello (or get you to walk our way).:)

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend any inexpensive tile outlets in LeMarche.? (Macerata or Ascoli Piceno area). Somewhere where one can go and browse around and see prices would be great.

For the Lucca area - try the Pieroni builder's merchants on the road north to Bagni di Lucca - it's the road that runs on the west side of the river, not the SS12 on the east. From the Lucca ring road, follow signs to Abetone/Bagni di Lucca (SS12). When you get to a big crossroads with an Esselunga superstore in front of you, hang a left over the river, then right - so you're on the parallel road up the river on the opposite site. Takes about 10 minutes from there, and it's on the left hand side of the road. Their tile and bathroom showroom is upstairs, and you can wander around. Staff are helpful too.

Of course there are the ceramiste art shops in Lucca where you can get hand-designed tiles, but I think from your request that's not the sort of thing you're after.

For tiles in Le Marche I can suggest a company called Anna Maria Vecchi they are in Grottazzolina they do tiles bathroom fixtures and fittings bricks and roof tiles.

We wasted a good part of the day yesterday trying to find that one with no luck. Asked a half dozen locals all of whom gave directions which did not agree with one another and none of which resulted in finding it. Found a showroom in Sarzana, however.

Heading south on road Aulla-Sarzana just before Sarzana on the left-hand side there is an unlikely looking road, St Gottardo, we think, that leads to a small business district where a tile outlet is located. They have great stuff. We will probably revisit next week and get better directions; we found it accidently.
There is also a Edile Cermica in Sarzana visible from the freeway, however in two attempts we have been unable to locate it.
If you happen to locate it, let us know how to find it.
