We have a home in Alessandria and want to build a tennis court. Can you recommend a english speaking concrete contractor that could help with this. Also, must I go through a permitting process to make this happen? Please help...

Without trying to sound patronising, I would leave the concrete contractor until later and start by getting a good Geometra!

A good Geometra will sort out the permits, land registery changes (if required) and source the contractors for you.

Generally though, the best way to find good builders is either from word of mouth from either local friends, or the local Builders Merchant. When I was arranging for work to be donme, the local Merchant came up to the house to make sure I was not being taken for a ride, and also suggested some other ideas or ways of doing the work.

There are many links about Geometras here (you can use the earch facility on the menu to find and filter).

Good luck!

If you need an english speaking architect for your process you can get in touch with Andrea Zavattaro, http://www.zavattaro.it/, he is based in Chivasso, not very far from Alessandria and he does speak english.

Good luck

sorry,
I forgot to say that you indeed need a permit, with detailed drawings of your proposal.

If you have a very clear idea of what you want you could get in touch with a geometra, but an Architect would provide you with a better service that is more likely to blend and enhance your existing property.

I have the details for a construction compan based in Lu monferrato, we have just redone the roof of our house with them and we were very satisfied. Send me a pm if you wish the details!

Good luck again!
