8987 Decking Suppliers in Calabria

Hi all,
considering decking our garden in Calabria. Has anyone the details of a company/shop who supply such products?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

where are you? It's not something I have seen much of here... have you thought that underneath would become a perfect breeding ground for lizards/geckos etc (this was the surprising answer I received when i wanted to put floor boards down in our house!!!!!)..Best go with tiles/ bricks..

Hi LisaJ,

We are in Isca Marina, a few K's along from Soverato on the East Coast. Never really thought about lizards etc. Only just bought so have not spent too much time out there yet. Have put up with the Scottish Midge for 50 years so what harm can a few baby dinosaurs do? :eeeek:

I was considering the decking option as I thought it might be quicker (and hopefully cheaper) than the patio option, although I have not looked into the costs. If anyone knows a reliable builder/landscaper in the area then I would be grateful for details.

Hi
I have recently had decking laid in part of my garden and had not thought about it attracting lizards and the like, but on reflection I think this will be great, they will at least keep undesirable insects away and will be fun to watch. If anyone is looking for decking, or just good help and advice concerning gardens, contact Leon at Calabrian invest ( gardens ) I can highly recommend.

Yes for lizards/geckos are nice to see, but what about snakes, the black ones 2-3 feet long.

You reminded me when we moved to Sicily the ground floor was storage/garage and the geckos used it as a breeding ground and managed to get into the other floors. Every night I went around evicting them, some nights up to 20, My wife thought the same ones kept coming back in. :eerr: I spent 2 seasons trying to find where they got in and then missed them when I eventually kept them out.

They got in everywhere, one day I was doing some wiring and left the cover off over night and found at least 3 got in the box and into the hollow bricks.:reallyembarrassed: I Thought if I stuck a margarine tub over the box with tape on the top acting as a hinge they could push tub away from the wall to get out but not back in. It worked for two but one got stuck to the tape. We spent all morning freeing the little blighter cutting the tape and soaking its feet in washing up liquid, thinking we could leave its tail to last but once we freed all its legs it left its tail wiggling behind. We named it stumpy and never evicted him/her after that, but they are quite social animals and did not like being on its own and left months later.:nah:
