So just to illustrate its not all a bed of roses and sipping wine on a sunny terrace, what are we all doing today?
Given that its snowing and cold, and I am not going sledging, I have a list
Give pill to Misha, feed him some lovely boar stew kindly donated by a friend to stimutate his appetite, resist boar stew myself with difficulty
Clean poo tray, result of lovely boar stew
Do my Mrs Mop routine as in our absence last night that bad tom cat from next door came in and sprayed....again
Clean stufa and rebuild fire
Sit and think what else I can odd to this exciting list...print out crossword and sit down as clearly exhausted already

So whats everyone else up to?

Our vet has mentioned the great care taken to make these stews for dogs. Apparently it takes hours of preparation. Those are very lucky dogs!

Snowed in hence manic prolific Forum participation. Work cancelled (snow) friends coming for lunch cancelled (too much snow). I've got my cucina a legna going nicely, found some porridge oats, also found carrots so I don't have to go out. Snug as spambot in a forum. I'll probably go out to throw snowballs at my dog in a mo',once fortified with the porridge, then clear a bit of snow...only the bare minimum though. Then I'll have to eat my monster beef stew and dumplings all on my own (eat your hearts out non arriving scaredy cat friends ). There you go Angie and Robert, if you want stew, I've got it!

Got up late, no need to rush with the snow preventing us getting down the hill and nothing can be done in the garden. Snowing from left to right at the moment. Yesterday, OH suggested we popped down to the supermarket and I for the first time, when snow has been forecast, just couldn't be asked. Whoops.... but we've enough in the freezer and the bread maker has been put into service.

Perhaps I am becoming a little bit Italian, where you just accept more readily life from day to day. :smile:So its catching up with website stuff, a good book and cuddling up on the sofa.

Tomorrow, who knows?

Misha is a pussy cat Noma, but the same rules apply!, thanks for the offer David, but we are scardy cats too....am still eying Mishas stew though.

Woken by dogs and its snowing!

Cup of tea and toast with fig jam.

Feed dogs and cats, walk dogs, rub them down with a towel as they are soaking.

Prod fire into life again and add another log.

Look at forums.

Future plans….

Iron jeans, shower, put all mud splattered clothes in wash.

Finish making vat of minestrone soup.

Eat minestrone soup with nice crusty bread and a good sprinkle of parmesan.

Curl up on sofa with dogs and cats to watch the Rugby(come on Italy, you can do it, just one win please!!!)

Then it will be…

Feed dogs and cats, walk dogs, lug in more logs, make tea sausages and leek and cheese bake, TV, possible virtual chat with friends and off to bed.

NB Cleaning is on hold as we have friends dogs with us at the moment and with 5 dogs in the house there is no point!

Well we had home-made bread and home-made (well Alice and Gerry made) boiled eggs for breakfast with home-made fig jam after. Lunch of pasta with home-made tomato passata! When would we get time in the UK for all that - we never even had breakfast whilst working at the pub and cooked for 100's of guests each week but never much for ourselves!

Well, having had a 'slovenly' few days, and doing another 'big shop' yesterday, today should be the time to catch up with all the things I didn't do during my slovely period...

I can' believe I do this you know.... I am fully aware that there are things that MUST be done like now! But I continue to find something that beats them in importance. You know the kind of thing I'm sure. Standing/sitting on the terrace in the fresh air and sun looking at the view is one thing which often supercedes ANY other matter of importance. Or it may be a repeat episode of some tv programme that I 'must' see - having only seen it maybe a zillion times before.

Oh yes, today and tomorrow are good days to 'cop out' of doing things. I am quite convincing (even if I say so myself) when I say to myself in the mirror
"Come on girl leave it... it's Saturday/Sunday, and pensioner or not, you are entitled to a weekend break too!"...

I did prepare a super fresh fruit salad though, as the fruit was all on 'special' yesterday. I got 1kg fresh (Spanish) strawberries for €2.50, half a pineapple for €1.04, four red pears for €1.80 so half of each has gone into the salad... gave them all a good wash then sprinkled them with 'Dietor' in powder. (not allowed any suger). I'll leave them all afternoon to marinate in the syrup... and have a little bit with my supper and return the rest to the fridge to add to lunch and supper tomorrow.

HTG I'm totally exhausted now I've managed to convince myself (again) to do bu*ger all for yet another weekend!

Did think about having a shifty on the forums to see if I could pick a fight with anyone... tried that and the (story of my recent life) the darned thread was (I think) deleted!
*sigh* Oh well - never mind - I'll just go and sit in the sun for a bit!
:wubclub:.

Today:
Up about 7.30, as was so grey outside.
Opened front door for dog ......... she took one look at the snow, decided to have a quick pee and then come back in to her warmer bed.
Made a very large coffee to blow away the cobwebs from the late evening
Defragged both computers as they were getting a little slow.
Caught up on some emails and the saga of Lisa11.
Prepared the veal for dinner this evening ..... Blanquette of Veal.
Thought about something for lunch and decided as it was not such good weather to have a Thai Tom Yum Prawn soup. ( Packet variety I am afraid, but by far superior to "Pot Noodle" )
Now musing whether to strip the desktop computer down and clean it from the dust that accumulates inside, or just have a lazy afternoon as it's the weekend.

Got up, opened the shutters and "OH MY GOD...deep snow and snowing" Went down to set machine for a brown loaf to eat with fresh eggs for lunch. Went back to bed...bouncy, small wet dog insists I get up...white sheets now have brown paw print pattern! Slow start, lit stuffa in upstairs sitting room which is used more in winter. Still not sat in front of it as various phone calls from UK telling me how warm it is in London. Or asking me such things as ....where can we stay in Chianti....?? (as if I'd know?) Searched a few favoured websites, sent email replies re where to stay. Then a quick look at the Italy Forum which turned out to be a LONG session...such an enjoyable way to waste time but still concerned about that English girl living in Emiglia whose story screams of isolation and too much dependence on her partner! Then maximised on the € 10 a month, call Europe, Telecom Italia offer, whilst thinking about a name for Charles Phillip's cat? Bit of sewing...and now to sort a rabbit to roast with black olives, onions and potatoes. Snow eased and a pink faced husband, whose been out walking, has returned happy and so is the dog. I long for some chocolate and the snow to go away. I certainly can't remain this lazy for long. I'd go stir crazy!
