[QUOTE=andy s]Actually, when paying about £10 a bottle it's quite good. Quality is not the problem. I'm convinced there is some deep lying psychological reason for it. Does anyone know the word for 'phobia of putting cork back in a bottle'?
Will test this theory tonight and actually try and do it.

It's actually called Michelle's Law. I feel morally obliged to sink the bottle. This is based on the premis that tomorrow is another day and a new horizon, hence, a new bottle to celebrate. you get the idea;)

[QUOTE=andy s]I have just had a trip round morrisons with my youngest boy who has clarified the phrase in question.
As we approached the drinks section he said: "I know!!! You want a nice bottle of red!!!"
I asked him why he said that and he shouted at the top of his voice: "BECAUSE YOU'RE AN ALCOHOLIC - YOU'RE ALWAYS GETTING DRUNK!"
Nuf said I think.

I win again :) ;) :)
quad erat demonstrandum :)
Now Andy, the reason is simple - the stuff in the screw top is probably so foul (and cheep :)) that drinking the lot is not a serious option. ;)
