11900 Sky TV

Don't know if anyone can help but every time I phone Sky to try and change my package, there is not a single English speaking person EVER around. I have called over 15 times now and still no joy. Getting so frustrated as my Italian isn't yet up to the speed that the operators talk at (even though I am trying to learn!).

So 1. does anyone know of another number other than 199 100 400 to call them on. This one I can't seem to phone on Skype so it is costing a fortune to keep trying on the landline?

and 2. have any suggestions on how to get through to an English speaking assistant who can change my package. I thought I was doing really well the other day and getting somewhere in my poor Italian, but it all went wrong at the last minute and I was still no further along!

Thanks for your help

I didn't realise they had English speakers!

Why don't you ask Paola to do it for you? Paola Orazi / services in Le Marche

I can recommend her thoroughly and I think she charges about €20 an hour (could be wrong ).

Hi S&M
Can you not try it online ?

Just a thought Sarahandmark, do you have a sky/telecommunications type shop nearby. This shop is where all the telecom. engineers go to get the kit for fitting dishes etc. Perhaps you could go there. Perhaps even a Euronics if you have one nearby. I am sure they will try for you.

We have just taken the plunge and got another satellite dish fitted so that we can receive normal italan tv, not sky. Needed another dish because its a different satellite from the UK sky one.We had to pick up a new italian decoder from this shop in Arezzo which does all the italian sky stuff. They were really helpful, even set up the box for us, all we had to do was plug it in.

Maybe i am being stupid but i was told in uk before coming over that english!!! Was in my sky box that i brought over,.!!!! Not that i was able to have english!!! Over here with italian sky box. Am changing my package later in year by buying and having posted new sky box with updated package.!!! Have i got this wrong

so have you resolved your problem sarahandmark? what happened? any updates? :eerr:

Does this mean that you now have two dishes, as we currently have our dish pointed at the Sky satellite Astra and want to add Italian TV by satellite as well, but would not want to have two dishes? Can this be achieved with one dish and may be additional cabling?

Hi Jenroy

Yes,we do now have two dishes, no choice because the beams from both satellites cannot be picked up by one dish. They are positioned very close to each other, almost touching on a wall which is out of view - except to the cinghale in the woods!

The technicians had hoped to join the systems with the one cable which joined them both at the dishes themselves but that proved impossible. But, they came up with a very workable system. We have two dishes, two decoders and two remotes... but you only just hit a button on one of the remotes to switch decoders from UK sky to Italy 'normal tv' via satellite' not Italian Sky.

Hope this helps.
