Can anyone tell me what a reasonable price for firewood is? Realise it will depend on quantity and whether supplier stacks it or not.
Just wondering how much to offer vendor of the house we are buying for the huge pile in the cantina - we've been asked if we are interested, we are, don;t want the hastle really of ordering more for the winter, esp as we won't be there much to sort it out, and are happy to pay him a reasonable rate for it. Circular stack about 1.6m high by 2.3m across.
Grazie!
In April I paid 20 Euros fill the back of our ford fiesta hire car - with the rear seats folded down!

You had better get better at packing firewood :) :) I get 35 Euros worth behind my seats (folded up) - so maybe my wood costs more - or perhaps I have less respect as the car is mine rather than a hire car, and if the headlining gets scratched - so what!!

Our supplier drops it in the courtyard - we stack it
What price to offer the vendor for the wood already there? - I'd suggest you wait until he says how much he wants - then halve it. Remember - he has to remove it if he really wants it, and he'll probably think its not worth the effort.

And at least it wont be green.. so it will burn nicely when the time comes.
When you have to order more wood - get the kids to stack it! Bribes work very well.. if you don't have any kids - adopt the local ones! :D

Seems about right - only loaded to the height of the seats so nowhere near the roof lining
This sounds like a Church Fete question - guess the weight of the firewood pile!!
I will make a first stab at about 40 quintali....and it would cost about 10 - 12 Euros a quintali, delivered.....so 400 Euros plus.
Just my first guess :) :)
