It's difficult as whilst some guests may use it frugally, others will have it on 24x7 at an killing 14 degrees (just incase!) so any figure you calculate will need to take this 'variation' into account too.
Can't help in any other way, sorry...........we stuck to some fans ;)
TH is correct about variation in use. That said, it is possible to control 'irresponsible use' of it without spending too much money.
One thing for eaxmplae is that when it is turned on in the morning, by a time clock, it can be turned off automatically at say 10.30am. If that person has gone out, it stays off. They can always turn it back on at the push of a button. Then another sequence would do the same for the afternoon etc. This means that someone has to be there to start it up outside hours where it is timed to come on. If they aint there it turns off. Same for the evening where the air is cooler.
Another one is a thermostat which allows them to set a variation from a 'set point'. Set point may be 21 degrees and the thermostat will allow them to switch down to 19 or up to 23. Stops TH's scenario wher they set it at 14 degree's.
Cost per day will vary throughout the year. Cost for air conditioning is directly related to the cooling or heating provided.

Thanks for your replies
Our unit has a remote control so it can be programmed time wise.So I think I will instruct our lady there to set it appropriately during hot weather and take the remote home!!!;)

I would think carefully before removing all control from your guests. I can think of nothing worse than having air conditioning I couldn't control - would prefer a fan. I would think the automatic cut out would be better - they can always turn it on again.
