I bet the free carts are only partials. How many pages are they rated for?

If you're really worried about B&W costs get a laser printer. My printer takes an 8000 page toner that costs about 100 Euros. The printer with a 4000 page unit only cost 150 Euros.

If you don't need colour lasers are the way to go. Faster, cheaper to run and more.

Had the same problem D&R, luckily found copy cartridges 2 x BW +1x colour for about Euro 9.99. Unfortunately printer has just given up in last few days, so its now a case of a replacement. Seems its much better to buy a new printer every time the ink runs out, as thats how the makers make the money.
Now trying to find a UK site that will send cartridges to Italy.

I get my cartridges from >HERE-ECOSTORE< They are much more affordable than the HP ones and have up to 33% MORE ink in them. You also get a €1 discount if you hand in your empty cartridge when buying another....well every little helps

I get mine from their Lecco branch - the nearest to me. But I would certainly recommend them. I've never asked if they do an on line service though.

Will check if its possible online to order them, perhaps will change the printer from a Canon to a HP if the cartridge price is good.

Try Mondoffice, prodotti e mobili per ufficio, informatica, cartucce, cancelleria, prodotti per pulizia ed igiene they are an Italian based office supplies coy. Some prices are very competitive, especially if buying in quantity, but for others they are quite pricey. Re cartridges they stock all the names and some of the copies. We have used them on several occasions and have never (famous last words) had a problem with speed of deoivery etc. (Teh cartridges we get have always seemed competitively proced when compared with the shops).
