9690 Fax machines [Really multifunction printers]

Is there anything to watch with these things in Italy?

I need a fax/B&W copier. The printer function isn't a big deal but a back up printer won't kill me.

Right now I'm looking at either the

Samsung scx-4725fn
or the

HP M1522.

With the HP for the moment in the lead.

All the lower priced models seem to have gotchas. With most of my faxes going to North America I'd rather a fast unit. Some have only a 9600 bps modem :eeeek:

So is there anything different in Italy or will a fax be a fax?

I have an HP 5610 fax, copier, printer, scanner, bought here in Italy and it works like a dream.

Can't remember how much it cost, around €130 I think nearly 2 years ago, and it does exactly what it says on the box.

Have an HP 6310, same as we have in the US. Bought it last year in Italy from MrPrice.com Scan, fax, copy, print and it has a flat bed. No problems.
