2107 Troppo Sole Toscano (Too Much Tuscan Sun:Confessions of a Chianti Tour Guide

Last Spring I went to a lecture with my Advanced Italian Conversation course given by Dario Castagno, author of Too Much Tuscan Sun: Confessions of a Chianti Tour Guide. If anyone hasn't read this book, I recommend it highly. After reading so many books by Americans/Brits about Tuscany and the Tuscans, he decided to write a book about the Americans/Brits who visit the region.

The chapters alternate between beautiful descriptions of the region and his years there, with sometimes HILARIOUS situations he was in with some of the tourists he took around. I admit, some of it almost made me ashamed to be American... If you read the part about the Circa family and the one about the "American food" you'll understand.

It's a great book! :D

Have seen this in the bookshops, but were not sure we wanted to read yet another book about Tuscany. However as you have recommended it highly will reconsider, next time we see a copy. Or maybe someone is running a ring for it on www.bookcrossing.com a site we find a useful source of reading material!
