Well I never thought there was any doubt about the Mona Lisa. I have always understood that she was in fact the wife of Francesco del Gioconda, who was in fact a good friend of Da Vinci. Nice to know that this has now been proved without a doubt .

Yes, I was always convinced that she was "Mona Lisa del Giocondo"; however, there were recently all sorts of theories about her true identity... fortunately, it's all settled now...
