OK Perhaps not the most famous region for its wines but Le Marche still manages to produce a fair share of vini DOC.
Rosso Conero, Rosso Piceno, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, (and even better imho) Verdicchio di Matelica, Colli Pesaresi, Colli Maceratesi, Serrapetrona, Offida, Falerio dei Colli Ascolani, Bianchello del Metauro, Esino and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba.
In addition the DOCG Vernacchia di Serrapetrona.
My favourite cantinas are :
Umani Ronchi in Osimo where the Pelago is a particular favourite and can be found in various parts of Italy. Have never really looked for it anywhere else so don't know if it's readily available.
Near Ancona you will find the Cantina Santa Barbara which produces excellent wines many of which I have only ever seen in this area.
Productions include:
Le Vaglie----a dry white Verdicchio voted one of Italy's top 101 wines.
Pathos a fruity dry red and a mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes.
Pignocco Red and White
Stefano Antonucci Collection a yummy full bodied red made from the bordolese grape.
Raise your glasses folks and drink to Le Marche!!!

Don't forget the Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC.
Then there's Visner produced in Cantiano, Sassocorvaro, Urbino and Cagli, although it is a cherry liqueur:)

In the zone of Ancona - Rosso Conero - I'd add "Moroder" a very good winemaker and their cellar has a nice restaurant where is possible to eat and...drink very well

Claudio Morelli from Fano for me is number 1 for Bianchello del Metauro!
I wouldn't describe Visner exactly as a liqueur... it's made with red wine, sour cherries and a bit of sugar, the result is a sweet and cherryish red wine, great with cantuccini or "straccadenti" (teeth tirers?) as they are normally called in Le Marche :D
Another similar great product is Spino nero. It's the same idea but made with sloes (blackthorn) and red wine. Actually you can make a great liqueur with 95% alcohol, sloes, sugar, cinnamon and clove (ok, and a bit of water ;) ). When you filter the liqueur do not throw the sloes away but cover them with good red wine (marchigiano, of course!). After one month you'll have a great, slightly sweet wine that goes great with chocolate desserts! YUMMY!!

Our most recent discovery in the quest for the perfect verdicchio is a local producer: http://www.casalfarneto.it
The fontevecchia http://www.casalfarneto.it/fontev_i.htm is definitely the best verdicchio in the world (for now!). Well worth a visit. He's a very small producer so travel may be involved - a very short straw for the driver!
