I live in Venice and would recommend the Hosteria Galileo, San Angelo. Excelent seafood and meat. A young chef who likes to meet expectations.
Reasonably priced, you may need to wait a while for your food during busy times, but its worth it!
Enjoy

My favorite place is the Fiaschetteria Toscana - http://www.fiaschetteriatoscana.it/ It has a fantastic wine list . It is not cheap but is always full of Venetians ( a good sign!)
I love the rooms at the Leon Bianco http://www.leonbianco.it/ if you can get one at the front on the Grand canal.
Some lovely much cheaper restaurants on the Misericorda in Cannaregio
Generally avoid most restaurants round St Marks and find places with
Venetians in them. Sometimes the grotty looking places have the best food and the ones with big TOURIST MENU signs have the worst by far! Fish is usually a bit pricy but very good.
Worth looking at venere.com and laterooms.com for hotels and consider apartments too - they start at 2 nights minimum rental out of season.
Have a wonderful time - I have just booked to go back for Redentore in July, can't wait..
Hope that helps

Hello Veneziaprime and welcome to the site.
I notice that you live in Venice (oh, how I envy you).
I just love Venice and everything about it, so to me you can be my fountain of knowledge, so to speak:D
To start with, could you please tell me whereabouts the above-named restaurants are situated, as it would be nice to be able to visit a recommended place as and when I next come to visit (hopefully sometime this year, otherwise I get withdrawal symptons!)
Kind regards

We had a truly memorable meal at La Caravella (part of the Serpentine Hotel) very near St Mark's Square and in close proximity to Harry's Bar - have a Bellini beforehand. Food excellent, service outstanding. Expensive but worth it. Afterwards walk off dinner by browsing through the streets and window shopping in all the designer shops - spend an imaginary fortune!!!

I enjoyed La Colombina. They are open in the evening only. 041.275.0622. The squid ink pasta with seafood is incredible!
I also had fresh seafood at reasonable prices at Osteria 40 Ladroni-on Fonda Mentadella-near the Hotel Morei d'Oriente where I was staying-and where I would recommend to stay. I ate there many times during my visit and always had good food.
