3576 ...for tomorrow we die!

[LEFT]As you can tell from the header, we're looking for a recommendation that will allow us to "Eat, drink & be merry..."

We have the luxury of 5 days between our freinds arriving & us joining them at our house (so we can't be there as we want them to arrive at it 'fresh'!)

I'd like to be able to find somewhere that would allow us to enjoy the "posher" side of the vino.........we can arrive anywhere in Italy, we fancy nothing more than enjoying ourselves & spending a bit of cash.

...............please, recommendation on how best to spend our time, sampling the 'pop', enjoying the food & relaxing.

Est, est, est

You could always follow in the footsteps of a famous bishop (German, I believe, so Vaticanally relevant) and head for Montefiascone, on Lago di Bolsena, where said bishop drank himself to oblivion............on the recommendation of his valet who was sent ahead to indicate "good vino" spots by scrawling "Est" where nice wine was available: in Montefiascone the valet wrote "Est, est, est" - so Bishop stayed, drank, died and ordered that his grave would have poured over it each year a few gallons of the local brew!

Just an idea - having read Le Marche thread I think I would head for Il Conero!!

Conero !
Many cellars to visit, many places to see, many restaurants to....taste !

David head over to Gradara and we'll show you the ropes.
Welcome anytime.
