Check whether the bed frame is 170 and the mattress 160 as in many cases this happens. Then, you will have suitable linen available anywhere in Italy as 160 is standard size. You can always use the 180 size but the fitted sheet will not fit perfectly well.
[quote=jepsonclough;91297]Hi
We have bought beds in Italy which are 170cm wide. The bedding in the UK is all 150, or 180cm so my question is: has anyone used 180cm bedding (fitted sheets) on a 170cm bed. I know it will fit but will it be all baggy and saggy?

Hi,
Fitted sheets are baggy when 10cm over size, but we have recently bought some cotton at home for our 150cm bed and these have shrunk, so you could could try doing the same with the 180cm as cotton will shrink, however ironing cotton on a hot day in Italy is not ideal. from experience flat sheets in polycotton are much less hassle. I have recently found elactics from the local haby that have suspender type fastings at each end, these fasten on corners of the sheets and under the corners of the mattress, holding them in place as good as being fitted.
Hope this helps

Ps you did not mention the length of the beds, these also vary.
