More to the point would be the problem of where to get hold of the Scaribaeidae you would then need to clear up the mess that the Formichiere would make!

I will try to track down the name of those fine white granuales that you MUST sprinkle on the ground a few days before you sow grass or clover seed, otherwise you are indeed wasting you money.

A couple of days before sowing seed for lawn areas we use Geodinfos G8 Granulare. It's not exactly a "planet saving" product but it does save money spent on costly seed. We ONLY use it for this purpose. It's a SIAPA Milano product, quote... Insetticida per la lotta contro gli insetti del tereno da applicare prima della semina.
Following on from wild criter resisant bulbs. Agapanthus are to be recommended if you have a suitable spot.
Try fertliser!!! They don't like it!!!
