10205 We will fight them on the beaches (super-rich in Sardinia)
An amusing silly season story about Italian holidaymakers throwing sand at the rich who were disturbing their beach by landing boats (you'll have to wade through stuff about €500 million houses on the Cote d'Azur to get to it) Alexander Chancellor: As economic troubles bite, Italian holidaymakers are turning against the super-rich. It's about time | Comment is free | The Guardian. An Italian version with a picture of the action is here: Porto Cervo, Costa Smeralda, www.portocervo.net - E i bagnanti contestano Briatore: via dalla baia.
Not sure I agree with the moral drawn by Chancellor - I suspect more Italians might wish to emulate the rich than confront them. But I sympathise with holidaymakers.
I feel the same about helicopters (except for fire and medical ones). I'd like to throw sand at them (or even better, shoot them down) but it'd cause more trouble than it's worth!
Bloody natives don't know there place. They should be shot.
