There's a post today where somewhat rented a car during the winter for 6 months from Auto Europa Pisa and thought it was a bargain. Italian's lease cars but those I know own businesses. I cannot imagine that an English person resident in Italy can lease a car, unless they had an Italian registered business which has crossed all the T's and dotted the I's.
Just wondering if anyone has experience doing a long term car lease in Italy and companies that do this? I'm trying to get an idea of the price at the moment so if anyone can help that would be great
Leasing is an absolutely normal practice in Italy.Usually it is done by free lance professionals and businesses in general because the VAT is completely deductable in fiscal terms as well as a considerable part of the cost.I have currently a truck which cost with vat around Euro 38.000,i put in my old pick up for which the concessionaire paid me about Euro 10.000 +vat against the new one and since then i receive a monthly invoice for about Euro 540. per month directly debited at my bank. This however is a straight forward leasing (ie. it is not a long term rental which usually includes fully comprehensive "casco" insurance plus ownership tax and other things) i looked into long term rentals but got pis++ed off because you can only have certain vehicles it seems, like VW and Audi.so after 4 years (next may) i can buy out my truck with the last payment (so it becomes mine) or more sensibly simply start another leasing for a new vehicle of my choice.with that i've more or less exhausted my limited knowledge on the details of leasing.
