We have awoken to snow here too. We are near Bisenti, region of Teramo, Abruzzo. At 370 metres. It's pretty sparse. Where it has settled without melting looks about 2 centimetres.
Nothing falling now, scattered fluries. Checked meteo, Chieti area a little bit worse than here.

10 cm and still falling above Lago Trasimeno. Thank goodness I didn't "cast a clout" when it was 18 deg here last Wednesday!

Drat I missed it, I was on the beach! Still, my neighbour tells me it was the same where we are. Weather supposed to get warmer by the weekend?
Weird coincidence though, don't you think, for wasn't it the same week last year that we had three or four days of heavy snow? I remember it because I came down with influenza and was bedridden for a fortnight.

Snow forecast for the end of the week at the top end of the valley, but none for here, so I know where I'll be going skiing!

Saturday's deep and sudden snow fall, has now all disappeared here, above Lago Trasimeno but imagine that you are a 6 year old girl. You awoke to snow last Saturday and your uncle took you to the hills above Gubbio, where you spent many hours building an igloo, that you could stand up in! Then he sqeezed inside too and took your photo! Magical memories eh?
Hello Aretina, in Marche along the edge of the Sibillini mountains there is about 20cm on the road, probably 30cm on the car. I should cross this over to "Optimism" beacause last night to get out, I had to do a bit of digging. When I returned, I drove down the hill, home. Normally with snow, I leave the car at the top. I thought "there hasn't been much snow, the forecast was wrong, it's probably wrong about tomorrow". I've not yet tried to get out, sometimes it is far easier in deeper snow, fingers and toes crossed.
Also I forgot that when the forecast states the level of precipitation, that refers to water not snow, which is something like 6 times more. ie 1cm precipitation =6cm snow. Or something like that. I'm probably wrong with 6x but it's something like that.
