11998 Quads

Does anyone know of a quad/ATV dealer in southern Umbria/northern Lazio? Any experiences you can share of acquiring one of these things in Italy? Does the [I]you're not a resident so you can't own one[/I] nonsense still apply if you're only going to use it on your own land????

I'd love to know the answer to this too - that is, about whether residency is necessary, not about dealers in Lazio :bigergrin:

Forum members have difficulty in agreeing the answer to that question - it appears to depend on where you live and how the local officials interpret the law.

Interesting (the bit about using it only on your own land). Many (secondhand) tractors used exclusively off road are effectively 'without number plates', quite legally. Since the dubious bureaucracy (about being resident, or having a PdS if non EC) is only about the 'number plate', I can't see why you shouldn't buy a quad and simply not bother to register it. You'd have to ask the dealer about this!
