1363 School update

Rachel and Jack started school on Thursday and all went well.

The School is lovely and on the first day they had a really special ceremony to welcome the new children and welcome everybody back to school. I have to admit that although my children didn't cry I did and had to hide so they didn't see me. Rachel (7) looked so small and afriad and I got all clucky Mum on her. The other parents were lovely to me and the children took Rachel under their wing and have really looked after her. Rachel doesn't speak much Italian and is struggling understanding and communicating in general but all seems well so far. Friday we did our first set of home work together which was hard for both of us but not as hard as I thought it might be. I am learning so much by doing the homework with her.

Jack (3) didn't cry and was an angel. The second day he didn't cry but didn't want to stay. I gave him to a Nun and ran. When I collected him he said to me 'Thank you for bringing me here'. And today he ran into School. The only small problem is he won't stop playing to go to the toilet and when they ask him he pretends not to understand. Little bugger.

Thought I post and let you all know how first schools were for my small children. I know this is concern for many of those who are thinking of moving here and have children. Mine are coping brilliantly and I hope things will gradually get easily for them but all problems are copable with.
