1656 Renting for 6 months

Ist post on this part of the site! I'm getting very close to buying in Le Marche but think it might be a good idea to rent a place for 6 months, to use when ever possible, to see if its really the right place! I dont know if anyone else has gone down this route? I cant really seem to find anyone renting for long periods, always seems to be weekly prices(holidayhomes), or if its agents no pictures.I'm planning to go back over in November to do 2nd viewings on 3 places and would like to find something when there!
On another note re Jamie O, Saw the 2nd half of his programme, was ok,but have a lot more respect for him after his experience with the divvies he employed in the 15 restaurant!I dont know how he put up with the ungreatful little sods. And just to finish re one of the other threads There are good people and bad people,or like me crabbit, everwhere. It doesnt matter which colour, religion or nationality they are,I try to take everyone as they come and make my mind up from how they treat me. Sorry for the wee rant!

Sorry, Italianfan, but I have no idea about renting. My mother is looking at this at the moment and she has made some contacts with estate agents in her chosen area to view long-term rental places. I'd check with the agents and ask them if they could provide pictures, or just make as many appointments for viewing as you can while you're there. Good luck!

I had to smile at your last comment re making up your own mind about folks from wherever - my attitude entirely! :)

rental market is quite active in italy but mainly in towns.... normal prices here for apartments in teramo say are from e400 per month and up.... and see no reason why the same would not apply anywhere else in the sort of mid adriatic regions... all costs on top of course.... rural properties are in general harder to find and these tend to be the holiday places.... anyway

so if town living is suitable for you from small to big ...i suggets you just go into any estate agent in any town you like and there will often be as many rental properties as those for sale....

i also think it is a much wiser route to take than ppping down to italy for a few days and getting yourself into that pressurised system of falling in love and signing without really investigating.... good luck with your search

unlike me to agree on anything with anyone on here i know...but also admire the oliver company...based on the fifteen no hopers... and agree about his managing to put up with them....

i dont know about the second part....and if this ties up with your opinions on things... but i tend to speak on how i find things.... on the world and any part of it...if its bad its bad.... there are degrees of bad based on... very..., little ....or sometimes ...but never on black bad, english bad, american bad etc etc.... good has the same rules .... so i think i am agreeing with you on that too

Renting property out here while we looked for a permanent home was the path we took. It gives you a better idea of the place you are thinking of calling home, before you commit. If you were considering Lazio could possibly offer more specific advice. However if you have any questions do nt hesitate to send us a PM.
