If you search a bit you will find a thread that discusses this, I believe you can connect your computer to a cell phone and pay some form of flat rate I think 30 Euros was mentioned and possibly less.

You are correct, it has been mentioned before more than once. We are the ones who have mentioned it before. We use a mobile phone for a GPRS connection and have virtually unlimited access for E30 a month. Your best bet is to find a phone dealer/computer shop that will be able to sort you out systems that will work in your area. Do not go to a shop that just deals in mobile phones, they will be unable to help.

When using the cell method what is the connection like speedwise, I don't need techie info such as baud rates or anything just basic comparison to 56k modem/broadband etc.. How long the forum takes to load or how long a picture takes to appear that kind of thing. Also do you leave the cell plugged in to maintain power.
Grazie

Connection via our cellphone is 115.2kbps Usually most sites load fairly quickly, certainly a great improvement on when we had a very slow internet connection via a landline. Our current cellphone is one that recharges itself while connected to the internet and plugged into the computer so it remains at high strength for many hours. However if your cell phone does not have this capacity you are going to be limited in your connection time by the battery life. Not very technical so hope this answers your questions OK

Vodaphone/'Lycos is the answer to your question. I think it very much depends where you live though as to what your local expert will recommend!
Also we do not actually use lycos for email as our emails addresses are webbased ones. hope this info of some help though.
