286 New motorway in Garfagnana

Heard on Italian news this week that a new road is to be built between Lucca and Modena.
Does anybody know the route it will take?
I have had no joy trying to find out on the internet.

It seems that La Nazione is also slightly sceptical...

Whilst it does talk of a 115km autostrada (with 35km in tunnels, the longest being 12km!), I think it's a no-goer!

We will have to wait and see if anything does ever happen - apparently the authorities have been considering building this road since the 1940's!

Just read your post about the proposed motorway from Lucca to Modena and anxious to find out more info, preferably as up to date as possible. I 'read' the suggested link as best I could with my basic italian skills.
Anyone got any links or info?
Any ideas what the proposed route is from Castelnuovo to Lucca?

From time to time this project come up to the attention of the politicians and the press , but as far as I know, at this stage there isn't any executive plan, neither the money to realize it.

Taking in condideration that two major projects for the mobility north-south are in course of realization (the high speed railway from Milan to Naples and the duplication of the Bologna-Florence motorway: the so-called "variante di valico"), and considering also the actual goverment is entering its final year, I bet this project will be forgotten soon.

Anyway, a project with this complexity, that involves a lot of authorities and parts always requires many and many years (even decades) before entering in the executive stage. You shouldnt be worried about that.
