Glad you got your washing dry George! Never even got ours done as raining here, at least it is much milder though about 15C. However the good news is that Spring has certainly arrived as this am saw our first hoopoe and swallow in the garden! Thanks for the reminder about the clocks changing Alex and Lyn.

I love Hoopoes, last year, one of the dogs, Trinity was lying in the garden, a Hoopoe was flying (Ryanair landing style :) ) past, and decided to have a look for worms in the weeden, when it landed, Trin wandered over to investigate, it waited till she was very close, then shot up it's plume, trin belted away from it, the hoopoe just got on with worming activities, have heard one, but not seen any yet... (sunny again today, so far) :)

I'd love to see a hoopoe in real life. My book says they do inhabit Lunigiana, but I don't think I've seen one so far. Particularly not as close as that. You are lucky.

.........Summer Time begins .....it is a Monet ( beautiful) calendar , printed in China , published by an American Company in New York .........says it all really doesn't it !!!!!!!!!:D
Incidentely...our wedding anniversary is 21st March and THAT is the first day of spring ..even in Italy !!!...short Spring then....7 days ..shame the winter wasn't that short.:rolleyes:
