I really hope this route takes off as well. It's quite convenient for us and useful if Pisa or Genoa is full and/or expensive. We booked flights for the end fo April (there and back) and have discovered that, owing to the day we fly out being a national holiday the only car rental agency that claims it is open is Hertz. Fine if you don't mind paying for the extra CDW but we always try to book through Auto Europe or Budget Cars whose prices include it. Unfortunately neither has a desk at Parma airport. Hopefully if traffic increases the facilities in the airport will expand.

Would the Ryanair Dublin/Pisa route not be better for you?

Too far!!
Stansted is my choice of airport if I am travelling with Ryanair.Family members not far away so it's ideal.
Belfast will be initiating flights to Pisa from May -Sept.Just one flight a week BUT- it's a start.
Pisa would be our choice of airport if going "home".It's only about 40 -45 mins away and it will be into "Galileo Galilei" that we'll be flying into next month.
I have just retired - early!! Unfortunately Hubby has to work a bit longer!but this will enable me to spend longer periods with family in Italy. My Brother and Sister live near Parma so "Giuseppe Verdi" is on their doorstep so to speak and as I mentioned earlier, I will be leaving from there in May.
The " Italians" will join us when our Son gets married in Scotland in June and July sees a crowd of us back in Italy.

On its maiden flight, Ryanair has just left Parma for Stansted with 174 passengers on board. There are approx 3,800 bookings ( single and return) for this route in April so far and I will be flying back to the UK from Parma in May.
I do hope the bookings continue to be encouraging thus making the route worthwhile.
