36 smoking in public places

Italy has gone all the way here now

two years ago or so everyone was warned it would happen and as of january this year it has..... all bars, restaurants, workplaces and communal areas in reidential apartments.....really everywher inside aprt from you own home are now covered...

being a long term smoker i happen to agree with the ban.... and apreciate the fact that some might not..... but it does make eating in restaurants just that bit better....

the reason i agree.....well simple really ...anything which might deter people from starting is good.....

penalties for breaking the rules are severe... both for the property owner and the offender which means that this is one of those laws generally being quite well followed ..... apart from schools alas ..... one headteacher even closed them during break times because so many children were having a quick smoke...... i know people think one shouldnt complain about the cold..... but even the most hardened smokers are finding it hard to stand outside just for a ciggarette in temperatures at night falling to minus lots.....

i also know that there are some bars and restaurants especially in cities that heeded the notice about air filtration and seperate rooms and do still have smoking areas..... abruzzo being as it is....not really having much interest in high technology filtration systems in most rural areas has just not bothered..... thankfully

apart from that the government has raised the prices anyway.....still competative with english prices....about e3 per pack...but its getter harder
Manchester United have introduced a smoking ban in the stadium during the match time.

Chirst that would kill me watching Leeds - Even non smokers take it up it's that bad these days

Have to say that as a commited smokers I heartly agree with this ban - sooner it is brought into the UK the better - sooner the sale of Snouts is banned altogether the better

Just hope they leave the Vino alone - but they won't that's next
