8612 Moving my cat to Italy
I have an 11 year old cat. If I decide to move to my house in Picinisco near Cassino permenantly within the next year I want to bring our dog and cat with us. No problem with the dog, she has already had her injections and has her passport to come with us in March and stay with my OH for three months, returning June or early July. (I will be returning to the UK as I have a business to run).
The cat will only travel to Italy when we go there permenantly. She hasn't had any injections for rabies etc.,
My questions are:
1. Do I have to have the full passport and injections done the same as for the dog even though she is only going to Italy and not returning to the UK?
2. Has anyone transported their cat by air and which airline? What sort of price would I have to pay to fly her over? Has anyone done that yet? I feel the car journey would be too stressful for her.
We are seriously considering selling up our business and moving over about 3 years earlier than retirement. Financially we would be OK but we are just fed up with running a business and the stress it carries with it. We will each day away so that we can get over to our house which is now more a home than our home here in the UK. Well that's how we think of it now.

Hi Maralyn
There was a thread recently about transportation of an elderly cat to Italy. Here is the link:

Good luck
