8873 Parcel sent to Italy - not arrived

We sent two boxes via VooVit (using Parcelforce Euro 48 service) to our house in Italy (Lucca area) which were supposed to have arrived within 3-4 days, they left our house in the UK on 14th Feb. They did not turn up all last week, no card left although we were in for most of the time anyway. Does anyone have any experience of this type of thing or any idea of where they might be - the tracking element of the parcelforce website is unintelligible as it shows them arriving in Italy on 19th Feb and then out for delivery twice on 19th and 20th, then the depot being closed and then leaving the country and then out for delivery again etc etc.

We have no idea where the boxes are! Can anyone help at all or advise where we can go for help. We are back in the UK now but can contact someone in Italy to collect them or the neighbours will take them in at our house.

I suggest you contact VooVit and ask them, It sounds as if they have tried to deliver… is your address easy to find? If the delivery driver cannot find your place and it gets dangerously near lunch time, he will rake the boxes back to the depot.

When you do get in touch and find out where the boxes are it is a good idea to give them a phone umber to contact if they have difficulty finding the house.

Good luck I hope you manage to track them down.

Hi
Most deliverys are made by companies such as SDA,Executive and GRS, try there local depots.
The parcelforce tracking number may be of use, but unlikely, as they mostley change when they go into a local system.
If you still have problems feel free to PM me.

We have now established that they have tried to deliver the boxes to the wrong address and to a property nearby that is empty! They are with a company called GLS in Lucca and we now have new tracking numbers for them. Will contact them today and try and get them to take them to the right address for the neighbours to take in for us, we hope.

We have had similar experiences with FedEx and UPS from the US, they transfer the delivery to an Italian service as Ricky and Deborah noted. So much for the UPS commercials that show the man in brown delivering in Italy.

We have had to call the local depot about 20kn away for redelivery more than once. That has always been a frustrating experience - best of luck.
