9985 UK Sky ITV

Hi we have UK Sky here in Umbria and were flicking through the channels and discovered we receive ITV (great for those coronation street fans) and the signal is very good! Really strange as we are sure have not had it before. Does anyone else receive this channel?

I have heard reports of this - as far as I recall you need a fairly new UK Sky receiver to get it, and it is only a relatively recent thing. I presume you have a 1.2m dish, or are you managing with something smaller?

We are receiving ITV 1 Meridian on our Sky FREEVIEW Box with an 85cm Dish.You will need a SKY Box & Card as the signal is encrypted like channel 4& 5 . Apparently ITV have had to offer this broadcast to SKY as there isnt enough room for all the regional channels on their existing satellite slot .See my previous posts for details .ITV started broadcasting on SKY at the begining of July.

Hi thanks for the explanation. We have a 60 cm dish and picture is very clear, although like with channel 4 we loss signal for a short time very evening. Although in the summer we hardly watch the TV it will be nice in winter to have an extra channel for dramas etc.

We do. We've had Sky Plus for a year now and ITV has always been there.
We're in the mountains and our satalite dish is the size of a small planet. Excellent reception.
For some strange sadistic reason we watch BBC news first thing in the morning. Credit crunch, knife crime, failing property market, increasing food prices, awful weather .....
