2474 Dental Treatment

Anyone know what the costs are like for private dental care in Italy, compared to the UK or Ireland?
I need some major work soon and the cost here is astronomical.

Unfortunately having to undergo some major dentistry at the moment! Very pleased with both the treatment and the costs, though obviously dentists vary considerably as they do everywhere. Best to see someone that has been recommended. Costs so far have been about a third of what we paid in the UK.

I know it doesn't really answer your question directly but I lost half a tooth and had to visit the local dentist - my neighbour took me to hers. He did a temporary repair (which was so good my dentist in the UK took a while to hack it out) and charged me nothing - couldn't be bothered with all the paperwork - I was European Community and all that. One thing that unnerved me though was how public the whole procedure was - I was on one chair with my neighbour chatting to the dentist whilst next to me on another chair was a teenager out cold for an extraction with his mum next to him - heh but for the quality of care I could get used to it

Me too. Paying for all those ignored check-up reminders! I think I may need a few implants so keen to find out what this might cost. Roughly £2k per tooth here and UK! Not bad if it's a third of this.

Yeah, that would worry me a little too. I'm a bit of a coward 'in the chair'! :(
