we have retired ( early) to Puglia. Company pension paid Ok ...will be eligible for UK State in a few years ...will be paid out here no problem....don't get things like heating allowance etc. obviously . :)
As residents of Italy now and because Uk and Italy have a reciprical arrangement,, we are eligible for all the same benefits under the Italian Health Service as an Italian .

Hi Natasha
Welcome to the forum.
I come from Somerset (near Yeovil) my partner & I now live just north of Bristol. We are moving permanently to Abruzzo within the next couple of months.
My partner is retired and receives a government state pension, we know that the pension can be paid abroad but are wondering whether it would be best to have it paid as normal and then transfered to Italy say every 3 months, maybe you will be able to get a better exchange rate and avoid paying the Italian banks too much money.
This is a question I was going to ask to see how others get their pension paid, and what they think is the best way.
Hopefully we will both get our answers.

We do something very similar with our company pension. it is paid into our Uk bank account and we just transfer funds out every now and again. As most Italian banks do charge for every single thing, this may be the better option.
The Post Office Bank Account has a fixed annual fee so it may be worth checking out their facilities. I have heard good reports of it from some people, but we haven't got round to changing over yet !
Perhaps someone who is using one , could give us some first hand experience.
Welcome to the forum, we retired(early)out here last year and love it. Too young to draw our pensions yet so cannot help but sure some of the others will be able to.
