Hi,

My wife and I have been readers of the magazine for some time, but didn't realise that there was a forum associated with the magazine until today - discovered by chance while looking for info on buying a car in Italy.

We have a small farm in Abruzzo with views towards, Gran' Sasso and out over the Adriatic. We bought the place five years ago after a 10 year infatuation with Abruzzo. We're slowly working towards a permanent relocation and at present visit two or three times a year by car, and as often as we can using Ryanair while fares last.

My Italian is still terrible, not helped by the strong local dialect which no one from outside the area can understand. I have some business in Italy already in partnership with a friend who is a lawyer in Pescara, and I'm hoping to pick up more work as my language skills improve.

My current big projects are house restoration (no surprise there) and the purchase of a tractor, probably a cingolo so that I can maintain my land.
